Appointment Information
Jay can provide counselling, psychotherapy, and assessments in person, via Telehealth, and over the phone*. The cost of services remains the same for services provided in person, via telehealth or over the phone.
* Certain services (e.g., EMDR, certain assessments) may not be able to be completed over the phone and/or using Telehealth.
In Person
In-person remains the most traditional and preferred method of accessing psychotherapy services. Most psychotherapy techniques and assessments are initially developed to be conducted in-person. Most people report a great depth of connection with their psychologist in-person when compared to phone or Telehealth services.
For in person counselling please attend Jay’s comfortable rooms at 5/70 Dilkera Ave Valentine NSW 2280, there is on street parking on Dilkera Ave and near Allambee Park.
Telehealth
Telehealth services offer the flexibility of accessing psychotherapy online via video conferencing. Telehealth allows you to access services if you are out of town, feeling ill, or cannot access Jay’s practice rooms at Valentine. Most services provided by Jay can be adapted to suit the Telehealth context. Jay will let you know if the planned session or assessment cannot be conducted via Telehealth.
Telehealth services are conducted online via secure and encrypted video links. You will require access to a quiet and private space to conduct the session, and access to an appropriate device (e.g., smartphone, laptop, iPad, etc.) with a webcam, microphone, and reliable internet connection.
Phone
Jay can also provide counselling services over the phone. Phone counselling can be accessed anywhere where you have phone reception. Some basic counselling services can be adequately provided over the phone, but phone counselling has some natural limitations. Some services provided by Jay may not be able to be provided via phone (e.g., EMDR, many assessment-related services). If you opt for a phone session, Jay or admin staff will inform you if the planned services are unable to be provided over the phone.
Jay provides psychological services to clients under:
- Medicare
- Private Health Insurance
- Workers Compensation
- NDIS
- DVA
Clients can access services privately.
